Ported from the Albannach board 'cuz I need to post something here.
Saturday night I partied with friends in Lancaster, slept till 1000ish, then continued on to the Pottstown area to meet up with other friends from PARF on Sunday afternoon
Sunday night:
2045 - Arrive at Newark (EWR) to meetup w/ [redacted] (who was already delayed 3 hours). Snow is starting to fall. Freshen up in car - brush hair, change of socks, etc
2115 - Report that I'm camped out in the parking lot. Take Nap.
2225 - Receive word that she's stuck in Orlando (MCO).
2230 - Figure out how to escape the airport. Start long journey home.
2345-ish - After 45 miles on I-78 and seeing TWO plows, it's time for a Diner stop. I've driven on everything from bare, wet road to 6" deep snow on this trip. It's taken 1.5 hours for a 45 minute trip, STILL in frakkin' New Jersey!
0045 - Leave diner to find 3" of new snow on the car
0200 - Lethal combination of sleep deprivation and weather force me to get off the road and SLEEP! In 3.5 hours, I have only made it to Allentown PA, 85 miles from the airport... On a normal day, it only takes that long to get from home to NYC.
I got home around 9 [Monday] morning, where I promptly ripped my contacts out (after sleeping in them twice. yuck) and crawled into bed to lose consciousness till getting up for work.
